From Sedentary Student to Strong & Confident: Chanpreet’s Fitness Transformation
Balancing a demanding nursing program with a healthy lifestyle is no easy feat. For 22-year-old nursing student Chanpreet Sandhu, the challenge wasn't just the busy schedule—it was knowing where to start.
Like many students, Chanpreet found herself stuck in a sedentary cycle. While she was active during her work shifts, her off days were spent recovering rather than moving. Today, she’s sharing how she broke that cycle, dropped 8 pounds, and finally found a "sense of direction" in her health journey.
Life Before the Journey: The Sedentary Cycle
Before joining our program, Chanpreet describes her lifestyle as "very sedentary."
"The most I would do in terms of fitness was getting steps in during my work week, but I wouldn’t really do much on my off days," she explains.
For many in the healthcare field, there is a common misconception that being "on your feet at work" is enough to reach your fitness goals. However, without structured resistance training or nutritional consistency, it’s easy to hit a plateau. Chanpreet knew she needed a change that went beyond just hitting a step count.
The Results: Real Numbers, Real Feelings
Chanpreet didn't just lose weight; she gained a completely new perspective on what her body is capable of. By tracking her nutrition for the first time and staying consistent with her workouts, she saw incredible shifts in her body composition.
The Numbers:
Starting Weight: 154.6 lbs
Ending Weight: 146.6 lbs (8 lbs lost!)
Body Fat Percentage: Dropped from 29.2% to 27.5%
Beyond the Scale
While the 8-pound drop was impressive, the non-scale victories (NSVs) were what truly changed Chanpreet's daily life.
Increased Energy: "I felt as if I had more energy and I genuinely felt myself getting stronger."
Greater Endurance: "I noticed I have more endurance to push through workouts and even surprise myself with how capable I am."
Physical Changes: "I noticed my pants get a bit looser and genuinely noticed a tighter waist when wearing tighter-fitting clothing."
The Key to Success: Consistency and Direction
For Chanpreet, the biggest hurdle wasn't a lack of effort—it was a lack of a roadmap. Before this challenge, she had never tracked her nutrition or followed a consistent workout regimen. Having a structured plan allowed her to stop second-guessing and start seeing results.
"Tracking my nutrition is something I haven’t really done, nor have I ever been this consistent... it’s been an immense pleasure to have been able to complete this challenge with real results!"
Who is this program for?
Chanpreet’s advice for those standing where she was a few months ago is simple: Just start.
"I would recommend it to anyone who needs a sense of direction in beginning their fitness journey," she says. "The steps are laid out very plainly and all of the stats are there for you to follow along with."
