From a Sedentary Workday to Searching for a New Challenge

If you've ever felt like your workout routine stopped challenging you, Iryna's story might sound familiar.

As a manager at TD Bank responsible for training branch managers across Toronto, Iryna spends most of her workday sitting. For two years, Pilates was her outlet — and for a while, it worked. But eventually, it stopped feeling like a workout at all.

"It helped tone my muscles and improve my muscle structure," Iryna told us, "but it just didn't give me enough high-intensity activity or upright movement." What she was missing wasn't effort — it was variability and impact. She wanted something that would actually get her heart rate up and challenge her in new ways.

A friend suggested kickboxing. She decided to try our Six-Week Challenge.

The First Week Is the Hardest

Iryna is candid about how the challenge started: it wasn't easy, and she wasn't sure she'd enjoy it or stick with it.

"The first week is challenging," she said, "but after the second or third week, it becomes more enjoyable." Her biggest piece of advice for anyone on the fence is simple — don't quit too early. "A lot of people give up too soon when they face difficulties. But persistence leads to better results, and you start developing a real connection with the coaching team."

That connection mattered. Iryna credits much of her experience to the support and engagement of her coach, Navi, and to the combination of kickboxing and stationary training built into the program.

The Results After Six Weeks

By the end of six weeks, the numbers told their own story:

  • ~10 pounds lost — down from roughly 159 to 147 pounds

  • Visibly slimmer arms and shoulders

  • Noticeably improved technique and endurance, from someone who started with zero kickboxing background

But Iryna is quick to point out that the physical results were only part of it. The consistency, the coaching relationship, and the sense of progress each week were just as valuable as the number on the scale.

Advice for Anyone Considering the Six-Week Challenge

What She'd Tell the Next Person Considering It

Her bottom line on the challenge itself was clear: it delivered. She showed up unsure, pushed through a tough first week, and came out the other side stronger, leaner, and more confident than when she started.

Thinking about trying the Six-Week Challenge yourself? Iryna's advice is the same advice we'd give: commit to the first three weeks, trust the process, and let the coaching team help carry you through the hard part. The results follow.
