Fighter of the Month: Doug Lindstone Makes It Three
For the third time, Doug Lindstone is your Fighter of the Month.
Read that again. Three wins. Most members never get one. Doug keeps earning it because Fighter of the Month is not about who lifts the most or hits the hardest. It goes to the member who shows up, makes no excuses, and stays honest with the work. Nobody at Fight Fitness does that more reliably than Doug.
Where Doug started
Doug is a VP of Finance who has trained with us for a couple of years. He is blunt about where he began. Sedentary. Inactive. A self-described couch potato who was never consistent and had low endurance.
That starting line looks familiar to a lot of people who walk through our doors. It is nothing to be ashamed of. It is the reason to start.
Why he walked in
Doug did not come in chasing a number on the scale. He wanted stress relief, mental clarity, and better overall health. A demanding finance career takes a toll. Training became his reset button.
What changed
Consistency did what quick fixes never could. Doug now has:
- More energy
- More strength
- Better endurance
You can read the full story in how Doug rebuilt his fitness at 49.
And the result he never saw coming? In his words, what you do in your spare time changes. That is what real progress looks like. Training stops being an appointment on your calendar and starts reshaping how you live.
How Doug loves to train
Kickboxing is his favorite class because he is always learning something new. That is the difference between grinding through a routine and actually looking forward to it.
His favorite exercise? Deadlifts. His favorite kickboxing combination? Anything with lots of kicks. Coaches, take note.
Doug's advice for anyone starting
"Consistency is the priority, not intensity."
Coming from a three-time Fighter of the Month, that carries weight. You do not need to crush every session. You need to keep showing up. The people who get results are not the ones who go hardest for two weeks. They are the ones who keep coming back for years.
The mantra that keeps him going
"The only bad workout is the one you didn't do."
Print it. Put it on the fridge. Doug lives it.
Show this champ some love
Congratulations, Doug. Three wins is not luck. It is proof that showing up beats everything else. Thank you for setting the standard for what #FIGHTFAM is all about.
